Raj Bhakta bought a 500 acre dairy farm in Shoreham, Vermont in 2008. He hired Dave Pickerell, the former master distiller at Maker's Mark, to build a rye brand on it.

WhistlePig owns the whole chain on that farm. It grows its own rye in Vermont fields and mills Vermont white oak from the property into its own barrels. FarmStock, launched in 2017, is the bottling where grain, wood and water all come from the same ground. Start with the 10 Year Rye, the bottle that put rye back on American bar shelves.
