Minden Mill

Minden Mill sits in Nevada's Carson Valley inside the last standing flour mill of the five built there between 1854 and 1906, restored along with the neighbouring creamery and now on the National Register of Historic Places. Foley Family Wines and Spirits took over operations in May 2023 and released the first whiskeys in late 2024.

To call itself an estate distillery a producer must source 85 percent of raw materials from its own land. Minden Mill takes every grain from within five miles of the still, on ground it controls, and cuts with Sierra Nevada snowmelt. At 4,700 feet the growing season is short and the nights are cold, which stresses the grain and concentrates it before distillation starts. The bourbon, rye and single malt all bottle at 47 percent, non chill filtered. Whiskey that could only come from one valley.
