Frank August

Frank August launched in July 2022 out of Bardstown, Kentucky. Johnathan Crocker, a former executive at AG Jeans and BLDWN, runs it, and the whiskey is blended and bottled at Bardstown Bourbon Company.

The Case Study series is the reason to pay attention. Each release takes a small parcel of Kentucky bourbon and finishes it in one unusual wood. Case Study 01 used Japanese Mizunara oak, five barrels and 1,000 bottles, and came out with butterscotch and baking spice. The core Small Batch sits at 100 proof. Case Study releases are numbered and finite.
