Doc Swinson's

Doc Swinson's has bought, finished and blended whiskey by the barrel from Ferndale, Washington, since 2017. The name comes from David Swinson Maynard, a founder of Seattle.

Master blender Jesse Parker says he works backward from the wood, finding the cask first and then building a whiskey to suit it. Ordered that way, the finish reads as part of the whiskey rather than a coat of paint over it. Triple Cask is the case in point, three lots finished separately in Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximenez sherry and Cognac casks, then married in a Cognac foeder. The Exploratory Collection carries the small runs, Tres Amigos and Golden Hour among them.
