Blue Note

Blue Note comes from B.R. Distilling in Memphis, started in 2013 by McCauley Williams, who left a law practice in his twenties to do it. The whiskey is Kentucky bourbon, selected and blended in Memphis.

The argument here is proof and price. Juke Joint runs a 70% corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley mash and goes out at 93 proof for under thirty-five dollars, and the single barrels come out uncut. That rye share keeps the bourbon dry rather than candied. If you want a bottle you can pour on a Tuesday without thinking about it, this is the shelf.
