Shorebird

Jordan Milne opened Hardshore Distilling at 53 Washington Avenue in Portland, Maine in 2016, after four years working out the gin. The house makes its own neutral grain base rather than buying it in.

Shorebird is his bourbon, first barreled in early 2017. Every grain comes from one farm his family owns in upstate New York. Corn, wheat, rye and malted barley, one soil, one grower. That is the point. The grain bill does not drift, so the bottle you liked drinks like the one you buy next. The range runs a 4 year small batch, a 5 year single barrel and the Master Distiller's Series, ages on every label.
