Rare Character

Pablo Moix spent more than two decades buying vintage spirits and running bars before he and Peter Nevenglosky founded Rare Character in 2021. The company has since put out over 500 single barrels, plus more than 100 in a separate series of older casks. Whisky Advocate names Wild Turkey, Willett and Castle and Key among the suppliers.

Collectors buy these by the code. Every bottle carries an alphanumeric string for mash bill, distillation site and barrel number, and wax color sorts more than 30 bourbon and rye variations by profile. Learn one code and you can go back for that exact profile, which no batched blend will give you.
