Ragged Branch
Alex Toomy started Ragged Branch on his Charlottesville farm in 2014 with partners Russell Nance and Chris Sarpy, building it with consulting distiller Dave Pickerell. The company says 100% of its raw grain comes off land it owns or leases in Virginia, milled fresh daily and run through a 2,000 gallon Vendome still.
The core bourbons go out bottled in bond. That label is federal law, not marketing: one distillery, one distilling season, four years minimum, 100 proof. So the farm grain reaches the glass at full bonded strength, with age and origin you can check. Buy it when you want estate grain backed by a federal guarantee.
