Jordan Helman and Adam Hines opened High Bank in May 2018 on Goodale Boulevard in Columbus, Ohio, with a full restaurant and cocktail bar. Whiskey War is blended from MGP of Indiana and Tennessee whiskey while High Bank's own distillate ages.
Head distiller Hines told Ohio Magazine the house took five Double Gold medals at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, more than any American distillery that year. Midnight Cask shows the method. High Bank blends Whiskey War with Australian tawny port and bottles it at 82 proof. The wine goes into the whiskey rather than only the barrel, which puts dried fruit up front, not at the edges.
