Middleburg Barrel Company launched 1787 Provenance on September 8, 2025, buying Kentucky whiskey and selecting it in Virginia. The 7 year comes from Bardstown, the 14 year from Frankfort.
The hire is the story. Principal whiskeymaker Jay West reviewed thousands of whiskeys as a critic at Whiskey Raiders, under the name t8ke. He picks the barrels now instead of scoring them, so each bottle was chosen by someone who spent a career saying no. More than 2,000 casks rest in new rickhouses on the 121-acre estate in Middleburg, Virginia. Go there and you can thieve a sample and buy the whole barrel. The 7 year is 107 proof at $69.99.
