Jonathan and Jennifer Maisano named K.LUKE for their children, Kaitlyn and Lucas, and built it as a blending house buying straight whiskey from Kentucky and Indiana distilleries.
Maisano blends blind. No age, no proof, no warehouse information, just the glass, and he adjusts one barrel at a time. Since 2014 he has tasted over 1,600 barrels and selected more than 400. A barrel gets in on how it tastes, never on a number that would look good on the label. Fred Minnick placed Batch 2 at number 24 on his Top 100 American Whiskeys of 2022. Batches are bottled at barrel strength and each is made once.
