Michael Buffa and Tim Bradstreet run Forward/Slash as a blending house in Winter Park, Florida. Bradstreet ran beverage operations for Orlando World Center Marriott and Gaylord Palms. They buy from independently owned distilleries around the country.
Forward/Slash prints the recipe. Every release names each component distillery and its share. Thornhurst Rye is 41 percent Journeyman of Three Oaks, Michigan and 30 percent Dad's Hat of Bristol, Pennsylvania. The rest is 22 percent Breuckelen of Brooklyn and 7 percent Manifest of Jacksonville, at 100 proof. Four rye recipes, from 60 percent rye up to 100 percent, in one glass.
