Ingram River Aged Uncharted Kentucky Wheated Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
About the Product: Uncharted Kentucky Wheated Bourbon is The Ingram Distillery's first wheated expression — a deliberate step into new territory for a brand already known for doing things differently. Distilled in western Kentucky and bottled at 92 proof, Uncharted swaps the traditional rye secondary grain for wheat, bringing a softer, rounder character to the high-humidity, river-motion aging environment that defines every bottle this distillery makes. Like everything in The Ingram fleet, these barrels spend their entire lives on the Mississippi River — constantly moving, breathing with the daily heat cycle, and drawing on the river's humidity to produce a whiskey that's notably smooth for its age. It earned Gold and 95 points at the 2025 International Wine and Spirits Competition, where a blind sample was recognized as one of the best wheated bourbons in America.
About The Ingram Distillery: The Ingram Distillery was founded by Hank Ingram III, whose family has been moving goods on the Mississippi River for five generations — dating back to 1857 when the first O.H. Ingram began shipping oak logs downstream. Hank set out to answer a question the bourbon industry had long forgotten: what happens when whiskey spends its entire life on the river, the way it did in the early 1800s when barrels floated to market and arrived better for the journey? His answer was a floating barrelhouse, moored on the banks of the Mississippi in Columbus, Kentucky, where all Ingram whiskey is aged. The river's constant motion keeps the spirit churning against the wood, daily temperature swings drive deep extraction and re-absorption, and the high humidity slows evaporation while keeping barrel sugars active. Master Blender Scott Beyer oversees every batch that emerges from this one-of-a-kind environment — and the results have drawn consistent recognition from the industry's most respected competitions.

What is River Aging?: River aging is the practice of maturing whiskey barrels inside a floating barrelhouse moored on the Mississippi River — a technique rooted in how early American distillers first transported and inadvertently improved their whiskey in the 1800s. The river's constant motion keeps the spirit churning against the oak, maximizing wood contact and flavor extraction in a way a stationary rickhouse never could. At the same time, significant day-to-night temperature swings cause the barrel staves to expand and contract, pulling whiskey in and pushing it back out repeatedly over the course of each day. The river's natural humidity slows the angel's share and keeps barrel sugars from drying out — giving the whiskey a richness and maturity that consistently outpaces its age on paper.
